Our story
We built the crossing, not the shop.
LePont began with twelve conversations in studios across China, and in none of them was the problem demand. The problem was the fourth page of a compliance document written in a language nobody in the room read, at nine in the evening, with a shipment already paid for.

The thesis
A launchpad, not a marketplace
Most platforms sell clothes and treat the infrastructure as a cost of doing business. We think it is the other way round.
There is a version of this company that is easy to describe and not worth building: find good clothes in China, list them in Europe, take a margin. It works right up until the first customs query, the first product-safety question, the first return from Munich that nobody has told the studio how to process.
So the product is the crossing. Localisation and pricing in both currencies. Duties settled before checkout rather than sprung at somebody's door. Returns that work the same from Leeds as from Lisbon. And a compliance concierge that sits beside a designer rather than in front of them.
The clothes are the reason to visit. The bridge is what we actually make.

London — Paris
Two cities, one crossing
London is where the company is run and where most of our UK orders are packed. Paris is where the labels tend to land — three of the four graduate shops opened within twenty minutes' walk of each other, which was not planned and is probably not a coincidence.
We keep both because the UK and the EU stopped being one shipping problem in 2021, and pretending otherwise is how customers end up with an unexpected bill at the door.
How we work
Four things we will not trade away
01
Curate slowly
Eight labels, not eight hundred. We visit studios and look at construction rather than lookbooks. A season where we add nobody is a legitimate season.
02
Name the maker
The label's name is on the product, always. We are the route, not the brand. If a piece is remembered, it should be remembered as theirs.
03
Say where it is from
Made in China, curated and delivered by LePont — printed on every product page rather than buried. The provenance is the story, not a liability.
04
Be outgrown
Success is a designer with their own shop who still chooses to sell here. We have written the commercial terms so that being outgrown is not a loss for us.
The uncomfortable part
The model works best when labels leave
3 labels have opened their own European shops since we started. On paper that is a platform losing brands.
In practice all of them still sell here — not out of loyalty, but because LePont reaches the half of Europe their own shop does not, and absorbs the parts of the business they have no interest in running. Two of their founders now mentor labels in the current intake.
That is the whole flywheel. A graduate is not a lost customer. It is the argument that convinces the next studio to cross.
The dispatch
Know which labels crossed, before they sell out
One email a month. The designers joining this season, the ones who have opened their own doors, and the occasional dispatch from a studio floor in Suzhou or Chengdu. Nothing else.
